Family Gaming with manchicken! Family Gaming
Howdy folks. I'm just a sucker for a cartoon character in a video game. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the more mainstream games too--such as Crackdown, Shadow Run, Medal of Honor--but many of these games are just not cool for the kiddos, and they're not always cool for me. When life gets a little too serious, there's nothing quite like DDR Mario Mix to bring things back to silly.
Below is a bit of a list of games that I dig for silly-fun games that kids and parents may be able to enjoy, but also those of us who just like to get a bit silly. I'll group them by single-player and multi-player.
The systems I'll put up are GameCube (GCN), Nintendo Wii (Wii), Original Xbox (Xbox), Xbox 360 (360), and PlayStation 2 (PS2).
Multi-player
- (GCN) Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix
- (GCN, Wii) Mario Party (any version is good, but I like #8)
- (Wii) WiiSports
- (360) PGR Racing
- (PS2) Karaoke Revolution; there are three varieties. You'll have to judge how appropriate each is by the songs they have on there. Other than the potential for objectionable music, all of these seem pretty fun. The American Idol version has that Simon guy being not-too-polite though.
Single Player
- (360) Viva Piņata
- (Xbox, PS2, GCN, Wii) The Sims (most any variety is good, but the PC version is a bit more risque)
That's my list for now. If you have more that you'd like me to post, please feel free to email me at manchicken@zoomshare.com and I'll see if I can put a game up for you
